The Science of Healing
Healing follows a Cascade effect, where platelets release growth factors to initiate tissue repair. Within 24 hours, wound macrophages take over, continuing the healing process. However, in chronic wounds, this cycle is disrupted, delaying recovery and increasing complications.
The CASCADE® Membrane restores this function by delivering sustained growth factor release for 7–10 days, creating an optimal healing environment that supports tissue regeneration and accelerates wound closure. With the CASCADE® system, each new Platelet Rich Fibrin Membrane is applied directly to the wound, where it gradually dissipates, continuously releasing bioactive growth factors to reactivate the patient’s healing response to help close chronic wounds.
