THE CASCADE® AUTOLOGOUS PLATELET SYSTEM
The CASCADE® Autologous Platelet System is a single-use, disposable kit designed for point-of-care preparation of Platelet Rich Fibrin Membrane (PRFM). The CASCADE® system’s proprietary technology ensures the delivery of intact, live platelets in a solid membrane that is easy to handle and can be easily manipulated to fit a variety of wounds.
Here is a step-by step look into how it works:
1.
BLOOD COLLECTION
A small sample of your blood is drawn into an FDA-approved, sterile, disposable tube with a proprietary gel, specially designed to isolate high purity platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the patient’s blood.

2.
PRP ISOLATION
This tube is then placed in a designated centrifuge. The blood undergoes an initial, 6 minute spin in the centrifuge, effectively separating PRP from the rest of the blood cells to optimize growth factors and support accelerated healing.
3.
PRFM MATRIX FORMATION
The liquid PRP layer is then extracted into a second proprietary tube, isolating the PRP. The second tube is then placed back into the centrifuge and spun for an additional 25 minutes, forming a Platelet-Rich Fibrin Membrane (PRFM). PRFM acts as a bioactive scaffold, ensuring sustained and targeted delivery of growth factors to the treatment site.

4.
GROWTH FACTOR RELEASE
After application to the wound, CASCADE® PRFM restores optimal healing through sustained and gradual release of growth factors for 7-10 days. These growth factors work together to promote tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the healing process.
